The First Time I Cut A Leek

  1. I made soup with stock - oversalted it. Then I put in udon noodles, it remained salty. Anyway, the soup was for my uncle, who even after tasting it, quite happily carried it home. But I liked the smell of fresh cut leeks.

    If something gets overly salty, i add some wheat flour dough to the soup/gravy and boil it for a bit and it does help reduce the salt.

  3. I would have put in a potato, Musy, but I only had baby potatoes - too many to cut. I'd intended a light soup and it became heavy 'cos of the noodles, didn't want to add anything further.
