The Day's Cooking

In exasperatingly familiar fashion, I followed a recipe blindly and ensured that Sunday's lunch would last us the entire week, but there is hardly any fibre in that. So I made cabbage-carrot-beans mallum, chaaru and a batch of idlis for The Spouse's breakfast this week. He, however, very untrue to self, is fantasising about a white bread-mayo-sausage sandwich.

  1. I am munching on a cereal bar while reading this. Normally I am not an idly fan, but right now I could really use a couple of those with that chaaru. Will skip the veggies :)

  3. And I'm fantasizing about idlis now. It's one of those dishes I haven't been able to master.

  4. Sig, I try most cereal bars I come across, haven't liked any!
Asha, I stopped making idlis/any breakfast for two months as he wasn't touching any. Then he said he'd have, so begins another phase ...
Mamatha, I buy idli batter :-D
